We are the people who can make it work

The Foundry's Executive Freelance Club (EFC) was established 20 years ago to provide freelance/interim support to both consultancies and inhouse communications teams.

We help companies find short, medium and longer-term freelance support for ad hoc projects (such as new business pitches, change programmes, launch campaigns), as well as maternity covers and fixed-term contracts. To meet our EFC membership criteria, you’ll need to be versatile, high-calibre and multi-skilled.

We offer you the option to review a range of opportunities, both in house and within specialist consultancies. However, we are also happy to invite you to go straight to 'Contact Us' to arrange to talk to one of our consultants about your unique experience and aspirations.

Freelance Associate Director, Corporate Communications, Consumer Brands, Central London, Corporate
£75,000 (REF. LB509759)

Stellar freelance stint: top-tier agency seeks talented Corporate Associate Director to lead on a big consumer brand for six to twelve month contract. Our client is one of the world’s most well-known and highly regarded communications organisations. They’re looking for a freelance senior operator (either an exceptional Senior Account Director or an established Associate Director) to help lead on one of their biggest flagship clients – a giant in the food manufacturing sector. You’ll need to be available pretty much straight away for an autumn 2017 start, and the contract could last for up to twelve months. This is a fast-paced, challenging and varied role, encompassing corporate brand communications, consumer campaigning, stakeholder relations, CEO-profiling, crisis and issues, and high-level media management. The right freelance candidate will be a self-starter who is used to parachuting in to complex business situations. You’ll be an excellent writer, too, and great with handling big, demanding clients. You’ll be able to show a track record of creating effective corporate reputation campaigns for big consumer-facing brands and delivering outstanding multi-channel content.

PR Executive, 3-month contract, Corporate & Consumer, Central London, Consumer, Corporate
£23,000 (REF. BB509683)

Our client is a leading body in the travel industry, playing an important role in resolving consumer disputes, setting industry standards and dealing with a wealth of industry-wide issues. They are looking for a talented PR Executive to join an experienced, creative and dynamic communications team for the next three months. You’ll work within a busy and exciting press office environment, dealing with a range of travel, tourism and transport related issues. The successful candidate will work across consumer, trade and corporate media relations to drive media coverage across traditional and digital channels. You’ll have a chance to play a key role in many national media initiatives as the team embarks on aiming to build the brand’s profile amongst consumer audiences. You’ll have worked in a busy press office whilst in-house or at a fast-paced agency team. You’ll be an excellent wordsmith, with experience of spotting media opportunities and you’ll be able to communicate brand messages clearly and effectively. You’ll also have experience of using social media to engage audiences as you’ll be interweaving digital platforms into all key initiatives and campaigns. If you fit the bill, let us know straight away.

Publicist (Beauty & Personal Care), One-Year Mat Cover, Consumer
£30,000 - £40,000 (includes car allowance) (REF. BB509654)

A great role for a freelance Publicist (around Account Manager level) with a real head for product launches and brand strategy. This team specialises in beauty and male grooming products, so an interest (ideally a passion) for this sector would be a huge bonus. Don’t mistake this for a bog standard ‘media hound’ role; it’s much more strategic than that. You’ll be a consumer lifestyle specialist with an established network of contacts spanning the full media spectrum (from journalists and editors to bloggers and influencers) and able to call on your experience and understanding of the media space (including online, of course) to build long-term campaign strategies. Strong writing skills and press office experience are a given, as will be liaising with celebrity ambassadors and event management. Ideally, you’ll also have some global experience as some brands are hubbed from the London office. If you’re the digital savvy, media strategist this team is looking for – and you live and breathe beauty and/or grooming, then get in touch with Briony today.

We’re looking for an established freelancer with excellent consumer PR credentials across household name brands, who’ll hit the ground running on some of this agency’s biggest clients. You’ll come with a stack of media contacts, strong digital credentials and a proven track record of great client management. If you’re an immediately available Account Director with a background working on big consumer brands, send your CV to Briony.

£240-280 per day (REF. EJD509632)

Senior freelance Consultant for a three-month contract in the busy press office of a FTSE100 business services group. Immediate start. Operating across more than a dozen sector market, including education, health, IT, emergency services, recruitment and local government, our client is one of the most high-profile operators in the business services space. Their central Press Team is currently looking for a Senior Freelancer for a three-month contract, starting asap. You’ll need to be a strong all-rounder with established B2B and corporate credentials, used to working in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Experience of working in an agency would be a definite advantage as the press office set-up very much mirrors a traditional consultancy, with matrix teams and “client portfolios” to manage. Creativity will be key here. As much as reactive media and issues management are part of their day-to-day, there is much more to get your teeth sunk into, from annual campaign planning and delivery of current long-term strategies, to new business and content management.
